Urban Kolor is led by graphic designer Rocío Calvillo, whose career spans more than twenty‑five years across branding, packaging, and editorial design. From her early beginnings at Papalote Paper in Madrid, Rocío has built a life’s work around the belief that design is both structure and storytelling, a way to give ideas form, rhythm, and permanence.
Specializing in editorial design, she has created publications for artists, brands, and institutions throughout her career, developing a signature approach defined by precision, visual balance, and narrative intention. Her work bridges European design sensibilities with contemporary publishing practices, shaped by decades of hands‑on experience.
Now based in Chicago, Rocío and her team continue to expand Urban Kolor as an editorial studio dedicated to thoughtful, publication driven design. Whether crafting a magazine, developing a fine art book, or guiding a project through the full publishing process, Urban Kolor brings together design expertise, editorial clarity, and a deep respect for the craft of making printed work.
